The town of Clare is located in the mid north of South Australia, about 150 kms north of Adelaide, a comfortable hour and a half drive. Settled in 1842, Clare is now the administrative and service centre for the surrounding area. Known for its ‘experiences’, the area is home to the Riesling Trail and is well known particularly for its white wine.

Come up with an itinerary and go for a day or for three days into the surrounding areas- visit Burra, visit the stations- base yourself for a trip to the Flinders Ranges- there are some amazing things to see and do- that don’t just involve wine.
RIDE THE RIESLING TRAIL
Some 32 kilometres long, the Trail presently reaches from the historic town of Auburn in the south to Barinia in the north. Utilising the region’s old rail corridor, the Trail passes through the villages of Leasingham, Watervale, Penwortham, Sevenhill and Clare.
ATTRACTIONS
Loose yourself for a few minutes at the fabulous Mintaro Maze. Lay the board games, challenge the family, then eat at the Magpie and Stump hotel.
Immerse yourself in history at the gorgeous Martindale Hall, a picturesque landmark that is now maintained by the National Trust.
Play a round of golf at the Clare Country Club, an 18 hole course located on the northern side of Clare.
